As a resident of SI, I was intrigued by the Zaloom story filmed by Nathan Clarke on CT posted back in 8/2013. Recently, my husband suspected wheel bearing issues on our 2006 Toyota and I wnated to address the issue asap, as it could be a safety concern. Though my first thought was to bring it to Zaloom, I was still a bit tentative to bring the vehicle for them to service. Perhaps the story about Zaloom was more hype than substance. So, I brought it to our 'usual' place for an oil change and gave them the first look into the problem. They did not hear anything during the test drive, and recommended that I bring it back when the noise became more consistent and prominent. I was not in agreement with their advice. So, my husband and I decided to bring it into Zaloom. The facility was neat and in order. Customer service was impeccable. Joe and Ed were very professional. They were proficient in explaining the technical issues w/o an overload of 'mechanical jargon'. We were given ample time to ask questions and to explore other options/alternatives. We didn't feel rushed through the process. Part of the work included an alignment. We asked Zaloom if they could do the repairs minus the alignment, since we had already paid for a lifetime alignment elsewhere. We were told that it was possible, but that they wouldn't feel comfortable that we drive it off their lot w/o an alignment. So, instead, they did the alignment anyway, and didn't charge us. The following week we traveled on that same road conditions that we first encountered the noise. We heard nothing. Our car handled the road very well. We will most definitely patron Zaloom for our car needs. A garage with great expertise coupled with superb service is hard to come by.
